    What a pulse contains

    Feed Pulse

A short daily summary of what your feed was about yesterday, with every claim linked to the post it came from.

Feed Pulse writes a short, daily summary of your feed: what it was about yesterday, drawn from the posts your readers viewed most. It appears on your feed's page and, for public feeds, at the top of the feed's public page.

    What a pulse contains

Each pulse is dated for the day it covers ("Feed Pulse · yesterday") and can include:

    • A headline for the day.
    • A quote from one of the posts, with Read the post.
    • A few short points, each linked to the post it came from, so readers can check it in one click.
    • The open question: a tension or unresolved point in the conversation.
    • Themes, shown as tags.
    • Standout post, with a link to open on Bluesky and why it stood out.

At the bottom, a line says which posts it was summarized from (for example "Summarized from 25 most-viewed posts"; on a quiet day it uses posts from that day instead), whose Mac on the co/core network wrote it, and a link to its signed receipt. Every co/core job leaves a signed receipt on the provider's own account, recording the model, the token counts, and a hash of the input and output.

    Before you start: connect co/core

Pulses are written on co/core, a community compute network, using your own co/core account and credits. So you need to connect it once:

    1. Go to your Account page.
    2. Under Connections, click Connect co/core and follow the steps. You'll be asked to sign in with Bluesky to allow it.
    3. If the automatic connection doesn't work, you can paste a co/core API key instead.

You can Disconnect at any time from the same place.

    Turning it on

    1. Open your feed's Settings.
    2. Under Feed Pulse, turn on Daily Feed Pulse.

The switch is disabled until co/core is connected. If your connection needs a sign-in again, or you're out of co/core credits, the settings say so. When you run out of credits, pulses pause and resume on their own once your balance is back above co/core's minimum.

Turn the switch off to stop new pulses.

    When pulses are written

A new pulse for the previous day (in UTC) is written each morning, after 06:20 UTC. Writing one usually takes one to three minutes.

You don't have to wait. On your feed's page, the Feed Pulse section has a Write yesterday's pulse button (or Write yesterday's pulse again if one already exists). The same option is in Settings. While it's working you'll see "Writing yesterday's pulse now", and the card updates on its own when it's done. If the last attempt failed, you'll see "Last attempt failed".

If Feed Pulse isn't on yet, the section shows Turn on Feed Pulse, which takes you to Settings.

    Where it shows

    • Your feed's page: the latest pulse, plus the controls above. Only the feed's owner sees this section.
    • The public feed page: for public feeds, the latest pulse appears at the top for everyone.
    • Private feeds: the pulse shows only to you, on your feed's page.

Collaborators on your feed can't write or manage pulses, because pulses run on the owner's co/core account and credits.
